Console status update - September 2022. Devtools jobs.
Status Update - 2022-09

This is a monthly series reporting on how things are going at Console. This post looks at what happened in September.

Focus for September

I wrote last month:

We're now onboarding partners who are interested in hiring through Jobs Console - the first set of match emails will go out in October. Each month we'll detail the product changes in these blog posts as we evolve the service. And of course, expect normal service with the weekly devtools newsletter.

So how did we do?

Jobs Console

In September we launched the first version of Jobs Console, our new product to help developers find the best jobs.

Our theory is that the best developers rarely look for a new job, they’re not on jobs boards, and they hate/ignore recruiter spam via email or LinkedIn. We built Jobs Console with those types of developers in mind.

Product development continued in September as we work towards sending our first matches in October. We're posted the first changelog blog post, which will be a monthly blog series separate from these status update posts to describe the product changes made that month.

We now have more than 1,000 developers signed up to the product and are onboarding partners to list their jobs in the system. We're working directly with the hiring manager for each position so we can get more detailed information about the role, and refer any matching candidates to the right person.

Focus for October

We will shortly begin sending the first Jobs Console matches to developers who have signed up. And of course, expect normal service with the weekly devtools newsletter.
